The Belknap County Economic Development Council (BCEDC) requested $350,000 in CDBG Economic Development funds on behalf of the Town of Meredith. The Town retained $20,000 for administrative costs and, through the BCEDC, loaned a total of $330,000 to Hampshire Hospitality Holdings. The funds were used to purchase a portion of the furnishings and fixtures for the project.
As a result of the Church Landing at Mill Falls, 26 new jobs were created in the Meredith area and 80 percent or 21 were filled by low or moderate income people.
The funds, when repaid to BCEDC, will become part of a revolving loan fund that businesses throughout Belknap County can access for future development needs.
