NHCDFA Downtown Resource Center MembershipMembership at a glance

The first step in the comprehensive revitalization of your downtown comes with membership in the Community Development Finance Authority’s Downtown Resource Center. The Downtown Resource Center provides assistance to communities through education and training, technical assistance, and advocacy on downtown issues. Members have access to the Community Development Finance Authority’s experienced staff, onsite consulting, a network of experts and practitioners, and the latest trends and tools.

Communities interested in being a catalyst for change in their downtowns may join the Downtown Resource Center (DRC) at one of four levels and/or take advantage of a market driven a la carte menu of services. Membership levels are offered at varying participation and fee levels, which allow a community to select a package that best meets their needs on a yearly basis.

Services offered in each membership package, depending on which membership level is chosen, may include all or some of the following service areas: Sustainability, Technical Assistance, Training, Educational Resources, Special Events and Networking, Software, Legislative, Branding and National Affiliation as well as Joint Marketing.

Participants can join at anytime throughout the year. The membership packages and services offered will be evaluated yearly, which will help to determine the membership package for the subsequent year.

Main Street Logo

The Main Street Membership is the most comprehensive and valuable package offered. For State Fiscal Year 2008 (July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008) it is only offered to currently designated Main Street Communities. Communities participating at this membership level can also take advantage of additional training opportunities that may not be included in the membership package by purchasing, at the lowest discounted rate only offered only to Main Street Members, services from the a la carte menu of services. This is the only membership level that authorizes a community the use of the Main Street trademarked name and New Hampshire Main Street logo.

The Network Membership is for communities interested in being a catalyst for change in their downtowns. The Network Membership level provides a variety of learning opportunities to stakeholders with a role in the preservation and revitalization of New Hampshire’s historic resources. Communities may or may not have a paid staff member or Board of Directors that guides their activities, but are interested in improving the economic vitality of their downtown. This membership package allows for greater levels of consultation and technical assistance with Downtown Resource Center staff than the Associate Membership. Communities participating at this membership level can also take advantage of additional training opportunities that may not be included in the Network Membership package by purchasing, at a discounted rate only offered to member communities, services from the a la carte menu of services.
