
Although the Authority is not a source of long-term support for most projects, CDFA generally grants funding to projects for more than one year in the hopes that our initial financial support will lead to other sustainable and permanent sources of funding. Because CDFA recognizes that it takes some time for a community-based nonprofit organization to develop a sound program, multi-year commitments are often made to community development programs.
A number of projects take more than one year to go from planning to fundraising to construction to operations. These projects often have several sources of funding with different funding cycles, which further complicates project management.
