PSNH & CDFA Offer Home Weatherization Program
Up to $4,000 available to Help PSNH Customers Invest in Home Energy Efficiency
MANCHESTER, N.H., June 14, 2012 – Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) customers looking to increase the energy efficiency of their home have new resources at their disposal through a collaborative effort with the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA).
“By combining the financing resources of the CDFA’s BetterBuildings Program with the NH Home Performance with Energy Star Program, PSNH customers will have expanded opportunities to increase their home’s energy efficiency,” said Gil Gelineau, Manager of Marketing Support for PSNH. “Through this enhanced program eligible customers may receive up to $4,000 when making energy efficient improvements to their home and may also be eligible for no-cost financing of their share of these investments through their monthly electric bill.”
Participating in the NH Home Performance with Energy Star Program starts with a comprehensive energy audit that provides customers with specific recommendations on how to improve the energy efficiency of their home. Following the audit, customers may be eligible for a 50% rebate – up to $4,000 – to help pay for the improvements to their home. Some of the eligible energy efficient improvements include adding insulation, reducing air infiltration and leakage, sealing ductwork, upgrading lighting, insulating hot water pipes, installing water saving devices, and replacing home heating systems.
“Customers today are looking for cost effective ways to save money while improving their homes,” said Kate Peters, Program Director for BetterBuildings. “We are excited to bring the resources of the BetterBuildings Program to help customers improve the efficiency and comfort of their homes. Our collaboration with PSNH will expand the list of available efficiency measures to include exterior insulated siding, ENERGY STAR appliances, ENERGY STAR windows, mold/mildew remediation, radon/water mitigation, and enhanced financing up to $20,000.”
